AstraZeneca's chief executive officer, Pascal Soriot, has been asked to explain why he was not named in the first round of the latest round of the company's fourth quarter earnings report. Soriot said, "We will now focus on our fourth quarter results."

Soriot said that the company expects to make "a major profit" in the fourth quarter but he said that he did not have time to prepare for the results.

The results were announced at a company executive meeting in the fall and are expected to be announced in early April. The company is expected to make a significant profit in the fourth quarter but does not anticipate any revenue increase.

In the first round of the quarter, AstraZeneca expects to earn $3.9 billion, or 14.5 percent of the company's earnings. The company also expects to make $1.2 billion in revenue in the quarter.

For the full year ended December 31, the company reported a loss of $3.3 billion, or 27 percent of its earnings. That is a decline of 14 percent compared with the full year's first-quarter earnings.

The company did not have a full year of results for the first-quarter.

AstraZeneca

New York Times's Morningstar news service has covered the latest developments in the AstraZeneca business.

Last week, the New York-based company's board of directors approved a merger and acquisition of AstraZeneca, Inc., which owns Wyeth, to create a new company that will be the biggest and most profitable company in the United States. AstraZeneca will become the second-largest company by revenue in the U. S. and a $10 billion takeover of Wyeth by Wyeth, the largest U. pharmaceutical company, has been announced.

AstraZeneca is the world's second-largest drug company by sales.

The deal to acquire Wyeth would create Wyeth, a U. biotech company, $7.8 billion in revenue from the deal and a $1.5 billion in cash. Wyeth and its U. sales force are the largest pharmaceutical company in the world.

The company also is the world's third-largest drug company by sales.

The new company will have the rights to AstraZeneca's blockbuster anti-emetic drug Nexium for the first time in its history, AstraZeneca said in a statement.

The announcement follows the news that an agreement between AstraZeneca and Wyeth was announced in May to create a research and development center at the facility, a move that has not been completed. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2005.

For the full year ended December 31, the company reported a loss of $3.3 billion, or 13.5 percent of its earnings.

The company's revenue in the fourth quarter is expected to be up 4 percent, while the full year's first-quarter results are expected to be a decrease of 10 percent.

The company will receive $2.1 billion in revenue from the transaction.

The company's revenue in the fourth quarter is expected to be up 2 percent, while the full year's first-quarter results are expected to be a decrease of 10 percent.

The company's sales and earnings were down 4 percent to $10.5 billion.

The company has also been subject to a number of regulatory changes, including new rules that allow it to sell a number of generic drugs. This is the third time the company has been subject to these changes.

The company has also been subject to a number of changes over the last three years including changes in the terms of sales and marketing, and new rules to ensure that its products are not sold through a company-sponsored drug program.

The company's fourth quarter results are expected to be announced in early April.

AstraZeneca's results for the quarter will be announced at a company executive meeting in the fall.

The company has a second-quarter loss of $3.3 billion, or 13.
